Construction of
improvements to Route 123 expanding it to a 4-lane
divided primary roadway. The project consisted of over
4-miles of both new roadway location and widening of
existing roadways. In addition to extensive interface
between Branch and adjacent business and residential
property owners, the project included 700,000 cubic
yards of excavation, almost 11,000 square feet of sound
barrier walls, over 3,200 square feet of retaining
structures, 6 signalized intersections a complete
landscaping package.
During the course of the project, the originally planned
sequence of traffic switches was greatly improved. These
traffic sequence changes not only reduced the original
number of project phases, but also helped in managing
unanticipated impacts associated with over $3 million of
water and sanitary sewer upgrades. This project was
complete ahead of schedule.
