The Project consisted
of constructing Route 460 Blacksburg Interchange, which
included 11 bridges, 1 precast tunnel, and 1.8 million
cubic meters of excavation. This was a large complex
project with multiple phasing and traffic switches. Also
included was large earthwork quantities, a drainage
system and asphalt paving. Many subcontractors were
utilized during this major project including drainage,
water and sanitary sewer relocation, seeding and
landscaping, traffic signals, guardrail, asphalt paving,
pavements markings, and permanent signage.
